Cafe Museo Amparo sits atop the Museo Amparo in the heart of Puebla’s Centro Histórico, offering visitors a relaxed space to pause after exploring one of the city’s leading cultural attractions. As a cafe, it balances indoor comfort with the appeal of an open-air terrace, shaded by umbrellas and boasting views that stretch across Puebla’s iconic rooftops and cathedral spires.

The atmosphere here is easygoing, appealing especially to museum-goers looking for a spot to sit back and unwind. The seating options range from air-conditioned indoor areas furnished with cozy armchairs to the outdoor terrace where sunlight filters through, making it an inviting place on clearer days. The blend of cool interiors and open-air spaces means it works well as a refuge after wandering the nearby streets or exhibits, regardless of the weather.

Menu-wise, the offerings lean toward simple, approachable choices rather than extensive meals. Drinks like a well-crafted mojito or a classic gin and tonic stand out, reflecting an emphasis on refreshing, straightforward beverages. Light snacks and pastries—like a citrus-flavored cake paired with a mocha blanco—provide a modest accompaniment if you want a quick bite without slowing down your day. The service is friendly and efficient, though it operates with counter ordering rather than full table service, which keeps things casual and low pressure.

Locals and visitors alike tend to appreciate this cafe as a convenient stop within a day of exploring the Centro Histórico, especially on weekends when the museum’s entry is free, making it easy to combine culture and relaxation. The elevated vantage point means you’re not just grabbing a coffee—you’re also soaking in a slice of Puebla’s urban landscape from a comfortable, laid-back perch.

Beautiful space. It has a great view of the city and cathedrals. The food is good and drinks are tasty. A perfect way to end a tour of one of the best museums I've ever been to.

Atendimento nota 10.

This is the indoor/outdoor café on top of Museo Amparo. Excellent views of the city, in Puebla's only casual, order at the counter rooftop. There are better spots, but they're fine dining. I haven't eaten here, and honestly, I wouldn't. It's all low end food service fare. The drinks are simple, and well put together. I grabbed basic gin and tonic, and it was good, though the ice they use is small and dissolves too fast. But, if you're looking to have a beverage with a nice view without a meal, this is the only spot.

Beautiful cafe on the terraza of Museo Amparo with gorgeous views of the old Centro Historico de Puebla. Lots of seating indoor and outdoors to enjoy the sun. Nice menu options. No table service but good service.

Make sure to hit up the rooftop cafe at Museo Amparo. The museum itself is amazing and the outdoor rooftop patio is an extension of the serene architecture of the museum. Lots of seating. Lots of greenery. Would’ve been a perfect little oasis were it not for the blaring dance music from a bar across the street. Oh well…still a lovely little spot for a snack or latte in historic downtown Puebla.
